Ministry of National Defense approves project to relocate Daegu military airport

The Ministry of National Defense said it approved the Daegu Military Airport relocation project plan applied by the Daegu Metropolitan Government.

The approval of the project plan is a procedure that gives Daegu City, the project operator, the qualification to implement compensation for land and buildings in the project area.

As a result, the project to relocate the new Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport, which will be built around Gunwi and Uiseong-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do, along with the private Daegu International Airport, is expected to gain momentum.

Since 2022, the Ministry of National Defense and Daegu have been preparing for a cultural property index survey, a feasibility study for mountain areas, and a strategic environmental impact assessment.
