Lee Byung-hun will play the role of Man-soo, who is struggling to re-employment after being fired from a paper company he has attended for 25 years, and Son Ye-jin will play the role of his wife Mi-ri, who takes the lead for her family despite her husband's sudden unemployment, showing impressive acting and character transformation. Director Park Chan-wook, who began filming on August 17 last year and finished filming a total of 85 episodes until crankup on January 15, said, "I think it's been about 17 years since I started writing the screenplay for this movie. I am deeply moved to finally finish filming the work I wanted to make the most for a long time. I'm glad that it ended safely as planned, and I'll work hard in the second half to make a movie that the participants feel rewarded," he said.
Lee Byung-hun said, "I think I'll remember the time I exchanged ideas with the director like an old friend. I think the movie will be enriched with new ideas through many conversations. I can't wait to see whatever work I do, but I'm so excited that I wonder, "Is there any work I've been looking forward to this time?" and Son Ye-jin said, "I don't know how time went by so quickly.
