A person wearing a hoodie and shorts at the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump is making headlines.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on Monday (local time) that "the most memorable scene from Trump's second inauguration" was the clothes of Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania along with Melania Trump's hat and Trump's eldest daughter Ivanka's beret.

Fetterman appeared at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., where the inauguration ceremony was held, wearing a black hoodie, gray shorts and sneakers from street brand Carlhart.

Washington was cold enough to have to move the event indoors, but Congressman Fetterman attended in shorts and a hoodie, the Washington Post reported. "Fetterman's casual attire is one of his trademarks, so why should it be different on Inauguration Day?"

Fetterman, born in 1969, has drawn attention for his innovative urban regeneration policies since his time as mayor of small Pennsylvania city Braddock in 2006. He, who has represented labor voices, entered the Senate in 2023 with the support of voters in the Rust Belt region.

Fetterman, who has tattoos on a huge body measuring more than 2 meters, is famous for wearing jeans or hoodies in public. After returning to the Senate after receiving treatment for depression, he is known to be engaged in legislative activities in simple clothes.

He is also the first Democratic senator to meet Trump in Mar-a-Lago since his election.
