Seoul's 110,000 households at risk of isolation this year 'affirmation service'

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide a "goodbye confirmation service" to more than 110,000 households at risk of isolation this year.

Among them, 70,000 people at risk of lonely deaths are called or visited by a "our neighborhood care group" consisting of residents to understand the situation of individual households and provide various applications for supply and demand, emergency welfare support, and corporate sponsorship services.

Last year, our local care team made 1.99 million calls about safety and 370,000 visits.For 40,000 people in the low-risk group of

solitude, the control center will respond to the danger signal detection through a smart safety check service using artificial intelligence and IoT technology.

The control center has responded to 73,000 crisis signals in the past three years.

Yoon Jong-jang, head of the Seoul Welfare Office, said, "Please look around for isolated neighbors for the Lunar New Year holiday and contact the community center without hesitation if you need care."
