Gyeonggi Province announced that it collected 6.5 billion won from 50,000 foreign delinquents by operating a special settlement period for foreign delinquents with cities and counties between September and November last year.

During the same period, it used administrative sanctions against habitual foreign delinquents to seize 570 foreign workers-only insurance, 205 properties and 13,958 vehicles.

Roh Seung-ho, head of the tax justice department in Gyeonggi-do, said, "There should be no discrimination between Koreans and foreigners when paying taxes," adding, "We will strive to improve foreigners' tax consciousness through customized publicity and various collection measures."
