U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his ambition to build peace in Ukraine and the Middle East, saying he will end all wars.
Trump's re-entry into the White House could also bring significant changes to Europe's security and alliances, prompting European countries to be busy preparing.

Trump is said to have ordered aides to schedule a call with Russian President Putin in the coming days.
Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky, who are still unable to reach a point of contact, congratulated each other on their inauguration and expressed expectations for Trump's role as a mediator.
While the first phase of the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas is in effect in Gaza, President Trump is considering sending a special envoy to manage the second and third phase of negotiations.
In the midst of this, the struggles of European countries deepened.
This is because President Trump is pressuring Europe in various ways, including high tariffs and an increase in defense contributions by NATO members.
As a result, the leaders of the EU, NATO and the United Kingdom agreed to meet in Brussels on the 3rd of next month to discuss Europe's defense future.

British Prime Minister Starmer emphasized the special relationship between the two countries after expressing his desire to sign a U.S.-British trade agreement.
Meanwhile, Russia and Iran, under U.S. sanctions, are tightening their ties by signing a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty three days before Trump's inauguration.
As President Trump's return to power makes it harder to predict the world order, the movements of European and Middle Eastern countries, whose diplomatic calculations have become complicated, are accelerating.
