In addition, Minjoo Party Chairman Jin Sung-joon said he is proposing to the government to extend the oil tax cut period, which ends at the end of next month, for self-employed and small and medium-sized businesses.

Chairman Jin made the demand at the floor meeting, saying that gas prices are also soaring in addition to the high exchange rate, with the national average gasoline price hitting 1,724 won per liter after the emergency martial law.

He also stressed that the economy of people's livelihoods is really difficult, saying that although the Lunar New Year holiday is approaching, one out of two Koreans give up having a memorial service at all due to the tight living conditions of the people.
