The Constitutional Court said in a regular briefing today (21st) that President Yoon has applied for at least 24 additional witnesses, including Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min, and Acting President Choi Sang-mok.
He also added that there are many unidentified witnesses such as voting managers and voting clerks along with National Intelligence Service Director Cho Tae-yong and Board of Audit and Inspection Director Choi Hae-soo, which are likely to increase the size of witness applications in the future.
So far, more than five witnesses have applied for the National Assembly and 29 for President Yoon, of which only witnesses adopted by the Constitutional Court will appear at the court to testify.President
Yoon also applied to the Supreme Court, the Board of Audit and Inspection, the World Council of Electoral Agencies, and the Paju Election Commission for requesting fact-finding and document transmission.
The Constitutional Court explained today that President Yoon will be given the opportunity to speak directly if he attends the hearing, and that the Constitutional Court may ask President Yoon a question on pending issues.
