Controversy is growing as a current Gimhae City Council member said at a rally, "Kimhae has a lot of reds."

Lee Mi-ae of Gimhae City Council, a member of the People's Power, said at a rally against the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, on the 19th, "Kimhae has a lot of reds," and added, "It is quite difficult to act in the Gimhae."

City Councilman Kim Yoo-sang, who participated in the rally, also said, "Please help us spread the power of right-wing Korean patriotism in Gimhae, which was said to be red."

When the remarks were made public, the bulletin board of Gimhae City Council's website was followed by complaints from citizens, saying, "I'm so embarrassed as a citizen of Gimhae" and "We can't stay still by saying that we're red anymore."
