The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a joint public-private countermeasure meeting for the launch of the new U.S. administration, attended by economic organizations and industry officials such as Minister Ahn Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea International Trade Association, and Korea Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting focused on the impact of President Trump's policies announced in his inaugural address and executive order on our industry and their measures.
Minister Ahn Deok-geun said he dispatched a working delegation, including the Trade Policy Director of the Ministry of Industry, to the United States to understand the background and details of the U.S. measure, stressing that the public and private sectors should closely consult and respond to it.
The Ministry of Industry also said it will strengthen its real-time monitoring system and closely communicate with the industry to respond thoroughly to minimize damage to our companies in preparation for the upcoming Trump administration policy announcement.
