Reuters and CNN and other foreign media reported that a fire broke out at a 12-story hotel at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Volu province, northwest of Turkiye, at around 3:30 a.m. local time.
It was found that 234 guests were staying at the hotel at the time of the fire, and many family tourists visited the ski resort in Istanbul, Turkiye's largest city, and Ankara, the capital, especially for the two-week vacation.
Local fire authorities believe the fire first started in a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel and are investigating the cause of the fire.
