A nun who denies her identity, constantly runs away from what is in front of her, but eventually proudly confronts her without losing her faith. Actress Jeon Yeo-bin returned with a new face that she had never seen before through the movie "Black Nuns."
The movie "Black Nuns," starring Jeon Yeo-bin, is the second story of "Black Priests," which was released in 2015 and loved by the public as well as occult enthusiasts. In a situation where there is no exorcist priest who can do "guma" to expel evil, the main plot of the work is that nuns who are not allowed exorcism break taboos and confront evil spirits.
Jeon Yeo-bin, who has added a three-dimensional effect to the play with her unique character digestibility regardless of genre such as historical drama, melodrama, thriller, comedy, noir, and science fiction (science), proved her true value once again by successfully digesting even the "Occult" genre through this work.
On the 21st, ahead of the movie's release, YTN had an interview with Jeon Yeo-bin and talked about various things related to "Black nuns." As she was greatly loved by the public through "Harbin" at the end of last year, Jeon Yeo-bin opened the interview by thanking her.
He said, "Both films depict the stories of people who go beyond themselves to protect something. "I think it's amazing that we've postponed the story of solidarity by holding the hand of the person next to us, not alone, while promoting a better tomorrow," he said.
Although this film advocates the genre of "Occult," it is a work that focuses on solidarity as much as occult. Jeon Yeo-bin chose the work because she was attracted to this charm of "Black Nuns." He explained, "I was always a fan of 'Black Priests', but if 'Black Priests' clearly showed the color of occult, 'Black Nuns' was a movie with more drama elements, so I wanted to approach the audience anew."
"Black Nuns" is a film of those who run beyond themselves and stand in solidarity for what they want to protect. In the process, love and courage are also seen. I think it will be a new gift to the audience," he added.
He also expressed his gratitude and respect for Song Hye-kyo, a senior actor who worked with him for the first time. Jeon Yeo-bin, who described Song Hye-kyo as a "big tree in one place honestly," said, "I received great emotional help thanks to Song Hye-kyo's personality. I think I was able to breathe well like this because I can love someone without any hesitation," he recalled at the time of filming.
Jeon Yeo-bin then said, "I felt that I trusted each other just by looking at my eyes without saying much. I think it's a very valuable experience, and I think meeting Song Hye-kyo senior is meeting Kun-un," he said, showing off his affection for Song Hye-kyo.
What did Jeon Yeo-bin grow and learn from this work?
"I thought Michaela's reaction was more important than action in this character," he said. I thought about how to show a good reaction, but I realized that there was no way to act. I just looked the other person in the eye, listened to the voice and focused at that moment," he said.
He continued, "I realized that if someone looks closely like this and listens to him closely, I can love him. That's why I think I should watch more people and listen to their voices in the future. It was also a scene where I could reflect on my basic feelings about myself," he added.
In her ninth year since her official debut in acting, Jeon Yeo-bin also told her about the tomorrow she aims for and dreams of.
Rather than planning closely, he said, "I do my best every moment, so I feel cathartic and new learning every time I do one work, so my acting life is so good. I want to do well in the effort I can make as an actor and what I'm given."
Also, "If I have the luck to be an actor in 10, 20, or 30 years, I want to walk toward my goal steadily and honestly without being too greedy." As an actor and as a person, I want to be a better Jeon Yeo-bin today than yesterday."
"Black Nuns," starring Jeon Yeo-bin, is set to be released in theaters on the 24th.
