National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik asked eight G7 and EU diplomatic envoys to Korea to let the international community know that Korea is safe.

In a meeting with them at the National Assembly, Chairman Woo said, "Although we are suffering from a national crisis called emergency martial law, Korea is a country with strong democratic resilience and DNA to overcome the crisis."

He also urged support and cooperation for the successful hosting of the APEC Summit to be held in Gyeongju later this year, stressing that parliamentary diplomacy will also be developed to build strong relations with the G7 and the EU.
