Trump Expresss Will to Revive Strong 'Manufacturing Country'
Emphasis on Fossil Fuel Importance, Environmentally Friendly Issues Ranked Behind
Re-claims willingness to impose high tariffs on trading partners

President Trump has strengthened his commitment to make the most of his country's abundant energy resources and make it a strong manufacturing country, including expanding engine car production.

He also reaffirmed his "America First" policy, saying that he would impose high tariffs on trading partners, causing all wealth from abroad to pour into the United States.

Reporter Kim Ki-bong reports.

During the first administration, President Trump implemented a massive "reshoring" policy to bring in American companies that went abroad.

In his second inauguration, he also expressed the will of a strong producing country, a strategy to maximize the advantages of a powerful energy-rich country.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President] The United States will be a manufacturing country once again. And we have something that no other country has ever had. We are the world's largest oil and gas owner.]

It also said it would use energy itself as a weapon to improve its foreign trade balance.

[Donald Trump / President of the United States] We're going to use this energy. We will lower domestic energy prices, increase our strategic reserves as much as possible, and export our energy to the world.]

In order to increase the value of fossil fuel energy led by the United States, it has made it clear that eco-friendly issues are not on the policy list.

It aims to cut off the global trend of electric vehicle production quotas and revive the engine vehicle kingdom.

[Donald Trump / President of the United States: I'm going to end the Green New Deal today in an executive order, withdrawing mandatory production of electric vehicles. That way, I will save our automobile industry and keep my sacred promise to the automobile industry workers.]

He also reiterated the principle of imposing high tariffs on trading partners, as he has already vowed to do.

He said he is even setting up a dedicated department for the thorough collection of tariffs and taxes.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President] To that end, we're setting up a Foreign Import Office, where we're going to collect all foreign tariffs and taxes and imports. Huge amounts of money will be pouring into our country from abroad.]

Although South Korea was not directly mentioned in his inauguration speech, it seems clear that trade pressure can come at any time for the benefit of the United States, as seen in the words "I will not be used again."
