Airport Corporation President Found Dead During Muan Airport Improvement Project

Son Chang-wan, who was the president of the Korea Airports Corporation during the Muan Airport Improvement Project, was found dead.Mr. Son

was found dead at his home in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do at around 6 p.m. today (21st).Mr. Son

was responsible for domestic airport safety when Muan International Airport started the defense facility improvement project in May 2020.

The concrete mound made by the project was also blamed for the Jeju Air disaster, which killed 179 people.

Police officials said they have not found any criminal or murder charges, and the exact cause of death is under investigation.
