Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference shortly after Trump's inauguration and strengthened friendly relations.

In a video conference on the 21st local time, Putin said he could confidently say that Russia's diplomatic relations and cooperation play a stabilizing role in international affairs and that he was not swayed by the world situation.

In response, Chinese President Xi Jinping said he is ready to further develop ties with Russia, continue to deepen strategic cooperation and respond to external uncertainties.

It also noted that the gas pipeline project linking Russia and China is moving ahead faster than scheduled, saying substantial cooperation between the two countries is steadily increasing and mutual trade is maintaining growth trends.

Russia's RIA Novosti news agency said the two leaders invited each other to Russia's Victory Day on May 9 and China's Anti-Japanese Victory Day on September 3.

Last year, the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the two leaders agreed to strengthen the partnership of comprehensive strategic cooperation in the new era of China and Russia.
