Acting President Choi Sang-mok said he will deploy a 24-hour police task force to major state agencies such as the Constitutional Court and provide personal protection for major judges to prevent a recurrence of court invasions.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok made the remarks today at the Government Complex Seoul, where he presided over a meeting of ministers related to state affairs and economic affairs.

Acting President Choi expressed strong regret over the illegal and violent incidents at the Seoul Western District Court and said he would strengthen security by deploying police squads 24 hours a day at major state agencies such as the Constitutional Court and courts to prevent a recurrence.

He also stressed that constitutional judges and judges in major cases will not undermine the rule of law by protecting themselves at the level of security.

Acting President Choi said, "Police order and public safety are the most important responsibilities of the government that cannot be compromised," adding, "We will manage rallies and demonstrations stably in consideration of human rights and safety, but take decisive action against illegal activities such as police violence and vandalism."
