is back with the movie 'The Untold Secret'.
The movie "The Untold Secret" depicts a miraculous magical moment that begins when Yoo Joon (Do Kyung-soo) and Jung-ah (Won Jin-ah) run into each other in a campus practice room where the secret of time is hidden. In particular, it attracted attention from the production stage by writing the original Taiwanese work of the same name, which was greatly loved in Korea in 2008.
Today (22nd), YTN met with Won Jin-ah, who came to the audience with a new face through "Secret Untold," and talked about various things related to the work.
First, Won Jin-ah said, "I feel relieved that I've been waiting for the release for a long time. I think I'm nervous and worried about how you'll see it. In particular, as I try to look at it objectively, I think there is a regret that I should have done a little better in all areas," he said.
As the original film is known as the essence of fantasy romance, there must have been a lot of expectations and pressure, and Won Jin-ah was also a fan of the original, so she was worried. Therefore, he did not rewatch the original because he was afraid of imitating the character or acting, he said, "I also felt a lot of pressure to recreate the movie because it was a movie that remained long afterwards. But I thought there would be something differentiated because I had faith that the director would adapt it in a better way," he said.
Regarding the differentiation from the original, Won Jin-ah said, "Our work seems to focus a little more on the story of the feelings of love compared to the original. What we focused on was the change of attitude and emotion toward love," he explained.
In particular, Won Jin-ah said in the process that she tried to express the complex mind of Jung-ah. He said, "I wanted to express a feeling full of curiosity rather than falling in love in one dimension. I also acted to provoke Yu-jun with bouncy charm, whispering because I wanted to portray him being brave when he went to another world," he recalled at the time of filming.
In addition, Won Jin-ah said, "I think works that are remade and reborn are reborn because they have their own competitiveness. I think it's the same as casting multiple actors in the same role in a performance. If the actor's personality and charm are different, there is an expectation that it will be born into a different work," he said, stressing that the Korean version of "Untold Secrets" has a different attraction from the original.
What was your romance like with actor Do Kyung-soo? Won Jin-ah said, "I think he has a charm that makes people comfortable because he is very witty. "I am an open actor who observes my acting well, accepts well, and performs well accordingly," he said, adding that he was able to make it easier, more comfortable, and work together thanks to Do Kyung-soo, who is good at everything.
Since her debut with the film Catch Ball in 2015, this year marks the 10th anniversary of her debut, and what will Won Jin-ah dream of tomorrow?
Unlike when she was a rookie, Won Jin-ah, who said, "I used to be scared of anything, but I think I should be happy on the spot that I will act for the rest of my life, so I feel less nervous. I've been relying on many seniors and getting advice, and I also want to take good care of my juniors and be a helpful senior to them," he said.
At the end of the interview, he said, "I personally like watching movies, but the reality that there are not many movies made like now is heartbreaking. It is also good news for me that various movies will be released in addition to the "Untold Secret" during the Lunar New Year holiday. I hope all the works will have good results beyond the break-even point. I hope everyone will get happy results during the long holiday and that the interest will continue with another work," he said, also asking for the audience's love for Korean movies.
"The Untold Secret," starring actor Won Jin-ah, is set to be released on the 27th.
