Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, is managed by the city from midnight on the 27th to midnight on the 30th, the Lunar New Year holiday.It has announced that it will waive tolls on the Maesong Minja City Expressway.

Drivers who use this road during the period can pass without pulling a right of way at the toll gate.The city of

expects about 126,000 cars to benefit from the toll exemption period, and plans to preserve the toll to private road operators in the future.

The Bibong-Massong Urban Expressway, which opened on July 1, 2017, is an 8.9km long road connecting Yangno-ri, Bibong-myeon to Cheoncheon-ri, Maesong-myeon, and tolls are 1,000 won for small and 1,100 won for medium-sized cars.

Hwaseong Mayor Chung Myung-geun said, "We decided to exempt tolls to keep pace with the government's highway toll exemption policy during the Lunar New Year holiday and to ease the economic burden on Hwaseong citizens due to high prices and high interest rates."
