Floor leader Park Chan-dae said at the launch ceremony of the special committee, "Uncertainty in the domestic political and economic situation is intensifying and the international situation is difficult to predict," but said it is the responsibility of the Democratic Party to increase national competitiveness.
Rep. Kim Tae-nyeon, who chaired the committee, said that drastic measures are likely to be taken to the extent that it is called the "Trump Storm," and stressed the need for a strategic response at a time when the government's ability to respond has weakened.
The special committee plans to seek ways to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic companies, focusing on high-tech industries such as semiconductors, secondary batteries, automobiles, and displays.
