The Seoul Arts Center said today (4th) that Cho Seung-woo will appear as Hamlet, the main character of the play "Hamlet."

Cho Seung-woo, who debuted in 2000 with the film Chunhyang, has been active on musical stages such as "Hedwig," "Jekyll and Hyde," "The Phantom of the Opera," and "Man of Ramancha." In addition, he has built an irreplaceable career by showing solid acting skills in dramas such as "Secret Forest," "Life," and "Siffs: the Myth" and movies such as "Classic," "Malathon," "Taza," and "Insiders," but this is the first time he has tried to play.

'Hamlet' is the most well-known Shakespearean play. This year alone, the National Theater Company and Shinshi Company presented this work with different interpretations. Cho plays Prince Hamlet, who is in conflict between revenge and moral beliefs.

In addition, senior actor Jeon Kook-hwan was cast as Hamlet's father, "ghost," who was killed by his younger brother, Claudius. The role of the heroine Ophelia will be played by Lee Eun-jo, a new actor from the Korea National University of Arts Theater, who has penetrated a fierce competition rate of 450 to 1.
