With a heat wave warning currently in place for most parts of the country, daytime temperatures in Gangseo, Seoul soared to 37 degrees Celsius today.

The September heat wave, which reached its peak, will slow down for a while as rain falls across the country tomorrow,
The 13th typhoon is expected to occur overnight in the far South Sea of
, which is expected to act as a variable in the weather of the Chuseok holiday.

I'll connect you with a reporter for more information. Reporter Jang Ayoung!

Please tell us the news of the heat wave first.

[Reporter]
Let's look at the midday temperature in Seoul, where the first ever "September heatwave warning" was issued.

It rose to 37.1 degrees in Gangseo, Seoul, and 36.8 degrees in Mapo.

Okcheon-myeon, Yangpyeong-myeon, Gyeonggi-do, soared to 38 degrees.

The highest temperature in the Seoul metropolitan area is usually around 26 degrees at this time of year, but the temperature is about 10 degrees higher than today.

Currently, a heat wave warning has been issued in most parts of the country, and the wind chill has risen to 35 degrees Celsius, making it very hot.

Since the afternoon, warm and humid air has been introduced from the south, with strong showers everywhere.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the heat wave is expected to ease for a while as it rains across the country. The amount is large compared to the fall of

, so up to 100mm of rain is expected in the mountains of Jeju Island and up to 80mm inland.

It is said that the 13th typhoon occurred overnight, will it affect the weather of the holiday season?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's the 13th typhoon, Verbinka.
The
typhoon occurred last night, so the overall path for the holiday is still very flexible.

However, it will develop into a strong typhoon between Sunday and Monday, the early days of the Chuseok holiday, and is expected to move north to the sea near Shanghai, China.

Currently, the Korea Meteorological Administration, the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center, and the Japan Meteorological Administration are all expecting the same course.

Since then, the course has been fluid, and the forecasting model simulates that the typhoon is more likely to head toward China as the hot high pressure is currently located in the upper layers of Korea.

However, even so, the typhoon's heat is expected to have an indirect effect on the marine weather, such as a significant rise in temperature throughout the holiday or a high wave near Jeju Island.

The Korea Meteorological Administration will announce detailed holiday weather tomorrow.
