The initial 16 tons will be supplied mainly to restaurant companies and export kimchi makers, but it is unclear whether it will affect the price of cabbage because the volume is not large.

The price of cabbage is soaring as the supply decreases due to a decrease in cultivation area at a time when cabbage crops are not good due to this year's heat wave.

As of the 27th, the retail price of a cabbage was 9,963 won, up 60% from last year's average and 38% compared to the average year.

The price of cabbage, which exceeded 10,000 won per head in September 2022 due to typhoon Hinnamno and the heat wave, is on the verge of reaching 10,000 won again in two years.

Today's retail price of cabbage will be counted after 3 p.m., so it is difficult to predict, but considering the poor supply and demand, it may exceed 10,000 won.

This is the fifth time Chinese cabbage imports have been made in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2022,
The
government decided to increase imports depending on the supply and demand of domestic cabbages and China's crop, but it is said that China's cabbage crop is not good due to the heat wave, so it is unlikely that the supply of cabbages will be smooth until mid-October.
