According to the September import and export trends released by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, exports in September amounted to $58.8 billion, up 7.5% from the same month last year, continuing the upward trend for 12 consecutive months.
Average daily exports reached a record high of $2.94 billion in September based on the number of working days excluding holidays, while semiconductor exports in September also reached $13.6 billion, beating the monthly record for all months.
Exports of automobiles, the second-largest export item, reached $5.5 billion, the highest ever in September.
Imports in September rose 2.2% to $52.1 billion from the same period last year and the trade balance remained in the black for the 16th consecutive month with a $6.7 billion surplus.
