KAI, a Korean aerospace industry that celebrates its 25th anniversary, has set a goal to become the world's seventh largest aerospace company by 2050 based on exports.

KAI, which celebrates its 25th anniversary tomorrow (1st), held a ceremony today at its headquarters in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, attended by its executives and employees, including President Kang Gu-young, and Sacheon Mayor Park Dong-sik.

Kang said he will prepare for the new 25 years with a firm determination that there will be no second growth without exports, achieving the world's 7th largest aerospace company vision in 2050 and contributing to the realization of the world's 5th aerospace powerhouse.

KAI was established in 1999 by integrating the aviation divisions of Daewoo Heavy Industries, Samsung Airlines, and Hyundai Aerospace.

Annual sales, which were worth 700 billion won at the time of its foundation, more than five times increased to a record 3.8 trillion won last year, and it has grown into a key defense company in Korea along with Hanwha Aerospace, LIG Nex1 and Hyundai Rotem.
