The Ministry of Unification released satellite images showing the burial of a village in Jagang Province, North Korea, due to massive flooding this summer.

A Unification Ministry official told reporters today that hundreds of houses in a village in Gwangmyeong-ri, Seonggan-gun, Jagang Province, were buried in floods based on satellite images.

He then said that the river is narrow and a valley around the Yangtze River, a tributary of the Yalu River, and that there is a possibility of landslides along with flooding, causing many casualties.

Officials estimated that Kim Jong-un's failure to visit the self-destruct during eight public activities related to flood damage in two months may have feared that the local map would backfire.
