Pianist Lim Yoon-chan won the piano category at the Grammophon Classical Music Awards, a global classical music awards ceremony.

Im Yoon-chan won the piano category with Chopin: Etude at an award ceremony in London on the evening of the 2nd local time.

This is the first time a Korean pianist has been honored with the Gramophone Award.

Lim Yoon-chan also received a special award, the Young Musician category.

The Gramophone Awards is a prestigious awards ceremony called the Oscars of the classical music industry, which has been awarded in 11 categories every year since 1977.

Earlier, among Korean musicians, violinist Kyunghwa Jung won the chamber music category in 1990 and the concerto category in 1994, and cellist Jang Han-na won the concerto category in 2003.
