This year's competition, which was organized by the Overseas Koreans' Office under the slogan "Proud Koreans, Korea Together," attracted more than 350 people, including Korean presidents from each country and members of the Federation of Continents.
Participants held a plenary session today and resolved to actively promote the "8.15 Unification Doctrine" proposed by the Korean government to the international community, the countries of residence, and the "Republic of Korea" with the pride of Koreans.
The Korean presidents also included proposals to improve the system, including strengthening economic cooperation with their home countries, expanding investment in their home countries, and introducing mail-in and electronic voting to expand Koreans' participation in overseas elections.
Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency, emphasized in his closing speech that the motherland and the overseas Korean community should cooperate organically in various fields in the future.
Let's listen to Commissioner Lee's closing speech.
