The prosecution directly refuted the remarks of Lee Hwa-young, former vice governor of peace in Gyeonggi Province, who attended the "prosecutor impeachment hearing" yesterday.

The former lieutenant governor claimed at the hearing that there was a cajole of prosecutors' statements, which prosecutors dismissed as merely rehashing discredited false claims.

The National Assembly held an impeachment hearing for prosecutor Park Sang-yong, who was investigating the case of the Ssangbangwool remittance involving Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Lee Hwa-young, a former vice governor of peace in Gyeonggi Province who is serving time for receiving bribes from Ssangbangwool, appeared as a witness.

Former lieutenant governor Lee raised his voice that the prosecution repeatedly demanded and pressured him to make false statements.

In addition, a "statement seminar" was held in which officials from the case, including former Chairman Kim Sung-tae, were speaking together.

He claimed that all the foods Kim wanted to eat, such as galbitang and salmon, were provided.

In response, the prosecution issued a notice to the reporters the next day and protested that it was a rehash of false claims.

The first trial court, which sentenced former lieutenant governor Lee to nine and a half years in prison, rejected all rumors.

In addition, former lieutenant governor Lee's remarks at the hearing that he changed his testimony to protect representative Lee Jae-myung also fell.

He pointed out that the statement was not credible, saying that he admitted himself that he could change his statement depending on the political situation.

In addition, the prosecution criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for its intention to sway the trial of Lee Jae-myung's remittance to North Korea through a hearing.

The war of nerves between the two sides is expected to continue as former lieutenant governor Lee's second trial proceeds.
