U.S. President Joe Biden has said no decision has yet been made on the observation that Israel, which has signaled retaliation for Iran's missile strikes, could attack Iranian oil facilities.

Asked if he supported Israel striking Iranian oil facilities, Biden told reporters before setting off for a visit to hurricane-hit areas, "We're in discussion about that."

Asked if he would allow Israel to retaliate against Iran, he also said he was "advising Israel, not permission," and that nothing would happen today.

Earlier, when asked if he supported Israel attacking Iranian nuclear facilities, Biden clarified his negative stance, saying "no."

President Biden also said he would discuss Israel's future response together and that the G7 leaders say Israel has the right to respond but should respond proportionately to attacks on Iran.
