Israel, air strikes on the West Bank."Hamas Commander Dies"

At least 18 residents were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the West Bank's Tulkham refugee camp on Thursday local time, the Palestinian health ministry said.

The Israeli military said the airstrike killed a local Hamas commander.

The Palestinian Authority has appealed for the international community to intervene to prevent the deaths of its residents, saying Israeli airstrikes do not guarantee security for anyone, but rather cause more violence.

Since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October last year, Israeli forces have clashed with Palestinian militants in nearly daily military operations in the West Bank.
