The 18th typhoon 'Kuraton' weakened to a tropical depression as it passed Taiwan.

There is no direct impact in our country, but there is a rain forecast for Jeju Island and the South on Sunday and Monday.

We will connect with reporters to find out the typhoon and the weather forecast for the weekend. Reporter Kim Minkyung!

The typhoon weakened to a tropical depression this morning?

[Reporter]
Yes, Typhoon No. 18 'Kuraton' weakened from inland Taiwan to a tropical depression at 9 a.m.

As the typhoon moved inland from Taiwan, it weakened sharply due to the influence of the high mountain range in the east and the shallow depth in the west.

Contrary to what was feared, typhoons will not directly affect our country
The impact of rain clouds left by the
typhoon is not expected to be significant.

I'll also look into the weather over the weekend.

Autumn festivals are scheduled everywhere, including a fireworks festival in Yeouido, Seoul, this weekend, so is there any news?

[Reporter]
Yes, tomorrow, the weekend, the whole country will be clear without a rain forecast.

However, the morning temperature is expected to drop below 10 degrees inland by tomorrow.

The daily temperature difference will be very large as the temperature is expected to rise to around 20 degrees Celsius due to the influence of the clear and strong sunlight during the day.

From the day after tomorrow, which is Sunday, Jeju Island and the south will be affected by rain clouds little by little.

First of all, there will be little precipitation on Sunday, with 5 to 40mm in Jeju Island and 5 to 20mm in the south.

However, caution is needed as Jeju Island and the South Sea are expected to have high waves of up to 4m with rather strong winds.
