Two police officers who frequently drank and argued at police stations while on duty were severely punished.

Inspector A from Jeju Western Police Station and Lieutenant B from Jeju Eastern Police Station were inspected earlier this year after drinking and arguing at police stations in the island area where they worked together.

The Jeju National Police Agency recently held a disciplinary committee and suspended Inspector A for two months and dismissed Lieutenant B.

In particular, Lieutenant B even had a physical fight with other employees who took issue with the deviant behavior during working hours.

The Jeju Provincial Government's disciplinary committee decided to demote Lieutenant B by the first rank, but Lee Choong-ho, the head of the Jeju Provincial Government, requested a reconsideration at the time, resulting in the dismissal, which is a severe disciplinary measure higher than the demotion.
