Mayor Oh attended an international garden symposium co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Forest Service, and the National Arboretum to introduce the garden city plan and said this.
In addition, Jongno and Toegye-ro said they will create a green axis developed by combining old cities, and stressed that such garden city policies will increase the desire to walk, reducing the use of passenger cars, and eventually becoming a solution to overcome the climate crisis.
The symposium, designed to explore the importance and role of gardens amid the climate crisis, was attended by world-renowned urban regeneration experts, including former Singapore State Minister Mabutan, who worked on Singapore's landmark garden "Garden's by the Bay" project.
