Ahead of the last general election, lawmaker Jo Ji-yeon, who is accused of making door-to-door visits prohibited under the Public Official Election Act, has been put on trial.

The Daegu District Prosecutors' Office indicted lawmaker Cho without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

Representative Cho is accused of greeting his employees while visiting offices of Gyeongsan City Hall and the Agricultural Technology Center in April during the general election campaign.

The Public Official Election Act prohibits door-to-door visits to campaign.
