The EU and EU are expected to impose tariffs of up to 45.3% on Chinese electric vehicles as early as the end of this month.

Chinese-made Tesla electric vehicles are subject to a minimum tariff rate of 17.8%.

The European Commission said on the 4th local time that a fixed tariff on Chinese electric vehicles was approved with the approval of 10 member states, including France and Italy, and the opposition of five, including Germany and Hungary, and abstaining from the remaining 12 countries.

As a result, in addition to the existing general tariff of 10%, the final tariff rate will be 17.8% to 45.3%, which will take effect for five years from the 31st of this month.

However, the EU plans to continue negotiations with China in the future, so if the negotiations are concluded even after the end of this month, the imposition of final tariffs may be suspended.
