With the revitalization of the so-called "running crew," a group that runs together these days, running has become a trend for the MZ generation.

In today's YTN Marathon, six out of 10 participants were in their 20s and 30s.

Reporter Kim Seung-hwan reports.

With the clear night view of the Han River and fun music in the background, I'm busy running.

It is a so-called "running crew" led by people in their 20s and 30s living in a similar neighborhood.

[Chwanhee / Member of "Mangwon Runs" : (If I run alone) I used to run and stop, but since we ran together, I can run for a long time, and now I think I can run about 20km easily]

The goal is not to go quickly, but to enjoy running according to your physical strength and skills.

[Lee Seung Hyung / "Mangwon Runs" crew chief: We're trying to teach the posture for those who want to go fast, and for those who are new, we're trying to make it fun]In the midst of the

'running craze', young runners continue to visit the running classes organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

I'm going to run after learning properly as much as I can damage my health in the wrong posture.

[JUNG SEUNGWON / Participant of "Il-Il-Running Class" : At first, I didn't know anything about it, but I applied for a class because I thought it would help me get faster]

Inside the Yeouido subway station, which is called a sacred place for runners, there is a facility that targets the taste of the MZ generation.

Citizens' responses are also favorable because there is not only a changing room and an item storage box, but also a space where you can experience exercise equipment.

[Lee Joo-myung / Yeouinaru Station Runner Station User: It's amazing that the facilities are clean, there are shoe facilities that you can experience, and there are monitors that guide you through the running courses in Seoul]

It is also popular to authenticate the running route on social media by making a specific shape with the GPS on such a smart watch.

I'll try to complete the Sweet Potato Run course named because Yeouido looks like a sweet potato.

I don't usually work out that much. Perhaps that's why I completed the sweet potato run course in an hour by repeating running and walking because I was tired.

With the running boom, various running competitions such as vertical marathons and marathons with shopping items are also emerging, and major competitions are so fierce that they have to apply for an "open run."

The YTN Marathon was also quickly filled with recruitment, and young people in their 20s and 30s were very popular, accounting for nearly 60% of the total participants.

[Chae Sun-ae / Macromill Embrain Content Division Head: For the younger generation, the goal is not to complete the full course, but to analyze big data. // The attitude and values are moving in the direction of sweating and experiencing a sense of accomplishment or experience by setting a certain line that can be targeted (such as 10·5 km)]]

The running craze expands the base of daily sports, and there are mixed predictions that this popularity will also be once, but the trend of pursuing pleasure along with health is expected to continue in the future.

I'm YTN's Kim Seung Hwan.
