The People's Power assessed that President Yoon Suk Yeol's trip to ASEAN will serve as an opportunity to expand diplomatic horizons and economic territories.

Senior spokesman Han Ji-ah made the comment, saying that President Yoon will make a state visit to the Philippines and Singapore for five nights and six days from today and attend the ASEAN summit in Laos.

The trip will focus on developing into a comprehensive security and political partnership beyond economic cooperation with Southeast Asia, he said. In particular, the Philippines is expected to discuss detailed cooperation measures as it plans to resume nuclear power plant construction.

At the same time, he emphasized that the power of the people will put national interests first with the government and further strengthen cooperation with ASEAN.
