The Associated Press reported that the U.S. has spent a record amount of at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since the war in Gaza began on October 7 last year, and 24.0 trillion won in our money.

The Associated Press reported on the 6th local time that the report was released to mark the one-year anniversary of the outbreak of the war at Brown University's "War Cost Project."

Israel is the largest beneficiary of U.S. military aid in its history since its founding in 1948, but the $17.9 billion sum is considered the largest amount of military aid used in Israel in a year.

Since the Israel-Hamas war, U.S. military aid has included military funding and arms sales, the use of U.S. stockpiles and the delivery of used equipment.

The report, which was released this time, was completed before Israel launched a major offensive last month targeting Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group that has been attacking its north.

The report's researchers described $17.9 billion as a partial figure, as it is impossible to access details after Oct. 7, unlike publicly recorded U.S. military aid to Ukraine.
