The National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee's parliamentary audit of the Korea Communications Commission over Lee Jin-sook, chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, whose duties were suspended due to the impeachment.

Chairman Lee, who was originally adopted as a general witness, issued a statement of reasons for his absence, but when Choi Min-hee, head of the Democratic Party of Korea's Science and Defense Agency, said he would issue a companion order if he did not attend, he attended the National Assembly in the afternoon.

Opposition members criticized Lee for appearing on conservative YouTube during his suspension to thank him for saying he was a "conservative woman" or for violating the government employee's political neutrality obligations by posting comments he shared on social media.

In response, Chairman Lee refuted that he did not think it was a violation of political neutrality, but that it was a self-defensive statement regarding impeachment.

Asked by an opposition member if he was not ashamed as the main culprit for destroying the commission, Lee said, "The credibility of the commission has plummeted from last year. If he had not been impeached, such a result would not have been achieved."

The ruling party members criticized the Democratic Party's refusal to recommend a communications commissioner, pointing out that it is an attempt to neutralize the KCC by continuing the impeachment.
