Kakao Mobility has been investigated by prosecutors over allegations that it blocked taxi call calls if it asked rival taxi operators for business secrets and refused.

The second part of the financial investigation at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office launched an investigation today (7th) after receiving a dividend on Kakao Mobility's violation of the Fair Trade Act.

Earlier, the Fair Trade Commission imposed a fine of 72.4 billion won on Kakao Mobility, which started its franchise taxi business in 2019, for blocking calls if it demanded that rival franchise taxi operators provide business secrets and refused.
