According to the wedding industry today (8th), most of the wedding halls in Seoul cost 70,000 won to 80,000 won. In the Gangnam area, there are many places where meals exceed 80,000 won to 90,000 won.
After the COVID-19 crisis, which had sharply decreased the number of weddings, the wedding industry raised the prices of dining, Sudme (studio + dress + makeup), and wedding hall rental all at once.
In particular, wedding halls have recently raised their dining tables significantly due to high prices and rising labor costs.
In fact, wedding hall A in Songpa-gu, Seoul, cost 62,000 won last year, but increased 33.9% in a year to 83,000 won this year, and wedding hall B in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, increased 21.4% from 70,000 won last year to 85,000 won this year.
As the number of wedding ceremonies has risen significantly, the burden of congratulatory money on guests is also increasing. Until now, it has been a climate that usually pays between 50,000 won and 100,000 won as congratulatory money, but this conventional wisdom is also changing amid high prices.
