The Japanese government said Prime Minister Ishiba will meet with the heads of state on the occasion of the trip.
However, it did not say which country's leaders would meet with.
Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported that Ishiba will hold talks with Yoon Suk Yeol's president and is also coordinating talks with Chinese Premier Li Chang or Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier on the 2nd, President Yoon and Prime Minister Ishiba shared the perception that Korea and Japan and the three countries should be united in their first telephone conversation.
