Opposition lawmakers criticized the Ministry of Environment for not being interested in the environment and ecology and for misunderstanding who it was trying to benefit, downplaying the construction of the new dam as "the second part of the four-river civil engineering project."
On the other hand, ruling party lawmakers selected 14 candidates for the project to respond to floods, droughts, and the creation of high-tech industrial complexes under the grand principle of "national water management," but refuted that the total amount of fresh water was only a quarter of Andong Dam.
