Seven Sejong City Council members from the People's Power shaved their heads, urging the passage of the budget for the International Garden City Fair.

After Choi Min-ho, the mayor of Sejong, shaved his head in front of a tent where he was on a hunger strike, they argued that Democratic Party lawmakers were thoroughly ignoring the opinions of the minority party with blind and uncompromising opposition.

Earlier, lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Korea, the majority party of the Sejong City Council, decided to cut the budget for the garden city fair as their party's theory, and held a press conference starting with lawmaker Kim Hyun-mi.

Representative Kim said that major pending issues are being put on the back burner due to the mayor's fasting, stressing that citizens should not be blindsided and waste huge amounts of taxpayers' money to build achievements.
