During a state visit to Singapore, President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, Kim Gun-hee, held an orchid naming ceremony at the National Botanic Garden with Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife for a friendly luncheon.

The Orchid Naming Ceremony is an event in which the Singaporean government names VIPs or distinguished couples to newly cultivated orchid species with hospitality and respect for VIPs visiting their countries.

An official from the presidential office explained that the exact name is "Dendrobium Yoon Suk Yeol Kim Gun-hee," saying, "It will be a species of Yoon Suk Yeol in the orchid family and Dendrobium."

Earlier in the day, President Yoon also met with Singaporean President Tarman Shanmugaratnam.

President Tarman said it would be nice if the two governments worked together with the aim of upgrading to a strategic partnership, and President Yoon responded that the two countries could create synergy.
