The Valdakino, a huge structure located in the middle of the Vatican's St. Peter's Basilica, will soon be open to the public after 10 months of restoration work.Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, chief priest of St. Peter's Basilica
, held a press conference on the 8th local time and announced that the restoration work of Valdakino has entered the final stage and will be shown to the public on the 27th.

Cardinal Gambetti introduced that Pope Francis came to see the progress of the construction and appreciated the results of the work.

Earlier, the Vatican began the first major restoration of Valdakino in more than 260 years since 1758.

As a result, since January, Valdakino has been surrounded by huge reinforcement equipment and has not been visible to visitors.

The Vatican decided to refurbish Valdakino ahead of the first 'Jewish Year' in 25 years next year, and spent 700,000 euros and about 1 billion won of our money to restore bronze, wood and plating.

In addition, the Vatican is restoring bronze artifacts behind St. Peter's Basilica to welcome guests for the Jubilee and creating new protective windows for Michelangelo's Pietà at the entrance to the temple.

The Valdacino, completed by Italian genius sculptor Jean Lorenzo Bernini after nine years of work, was created to announce the location of the tomb of Saint Peter, the handmade son of Jesus, the first pope.

The four pillars are considered Baroque masterpieces, which were made in the form of supporting a large ceiling.
