In time for the 30th anniversary of the creation of Sihwa Lake in Gyeonggi Province, the government will announce a "development strategy plan" that will make the Sihwa Lake area a city that combines ecology and industry.

The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said they will develop 410,000 square meters near Sihwa Multi-Technoveli and connect Songsan Green City and Daesong District with roads and ecological axes to create a future city full of marine ecological tourism and innovative growth engines around Sihwa Lake.

To this end, we plan to expand metropolitan transportation around Sihwa Lake and expand leisure facilities, play facilities, and renewable energy production capacity to make it a marine tourist city.

He also explained that through a public-private joint consultative body, we will analyze the impact of development projects on the environment and continue to carry out water quality improvement projects.

Sihwa Lake is an artificial lake created in Hwaseong-si, Ansan-si, and Siheung-si in Gyeonggi-do due to the Sihwa Seawall, and although water pollution was severe in the past, the ecosystem has revived since the introduction of seawater again.

The government will hold a ceremony tomorrow (10th) to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Sihwa Lake and jointly announce its development strategy plan, attended by Land Minister Park Sang-woo, Vice Environment Minister Lee Byung-hwa, Korea Water Resources Corporation President Yoon Seok-dae, and local government officials.
