President Yoon said, "I hope Korea-ASEAN will work together as future partners."

President Yoon Suk Yeol said he expects Korea and ASEAN to build a new 35 years together as future partners for peace, prosperity and co-prosperity.

The president's office said in an article in Laos' "Vientiane Times" that President Yoon will upgrade the relationship to "comprehensive strategic partnership" based on the trust and cooperation he has built for 35 years since the establishment of the Korea-ASEAN dialogue relationship.

At the same time, President Yoon evaluated the current international situation as a critical inflection point where complex crises intersect, and emphasized that Korea and ASEAN, which are optimal strategic partners in the face of these challenges, should be reborn as future alliances for peace, prosperity and co-prosperity.
