The Jeju District Court acquitted A, in his 40s, who was arrested and put on trial for injuring his lover by wielding a weapon.

The court consistently stated that the victim was self-inflicted, and the prosecution's evidence alone did not prove the attempted murder.

Mr. A was put on trial in March on charges of beating and wielding a weapon to kill his partner during an argument with his lover, B, but he has denied the charges, saying that he reported it to 119 because B was bleeding when he went home.
